Ford & IBM Rehires Human After Ai Automation Failed: Humans are now starting to take their jobs back from AI. Some companies are recalling employees they tried to replace with AI because the AI couldn’t meet the standards that humans were working on and couldn’t complete the quality checks that a human would.
Ford says it has brought back some human engineers to work where AI has failed in its experiments. According to the Ford company, AI helps identify potential quality flaws, but its effectiveness depends on the people who use it. Therefore, Ford has announced further promotions and has added 350 tech experts to the team.
According to BBC, Charles Poon vice president of hardware engineering, said that artificial intelligence is a great tool, but it can only be used as well as you can train it well. He added that in previous years, we have not paid as much attention as we should have to our intelligent engineers, who have been with us through many product cycles and have done a lot to benefit companies.
Last June, Ford CEO Jim Farley said in an interview that AI will leave many white-collar workers behind. During Ford Motor Company’s October 2025 earnings conference call, the company’s Chief Operating Officer Kumar Galhotra said that AI has been deployed throughout the industrial system, with 900 artificial intelligence-powered cameras being rolled out that will detect quality issues in the company and help mitigate supply disruptions..
Similarly, tech company IBM also stopped hiring in 2023 for all positions that AI can handle. Due to this step of IBM, thousands of people’s jobs were at risk, but now IBM has also announced a three-fold increase in entry-level job recruitment in all business units in 2026.
IBM’s Human Resources Officer Nickle LaMoreaux added at the Charter AI Summit held in New York that we need to invest in entry-level talent for IBM’s long-term agility. If we don’t continue to invest in internal hires, what will the future of the company be in the next three to five years? This will mean that we will not have any pipeline and this could prove to be a dry well for the company.
According to the company, AI cannot compete with the creative and critical thinking skills and communication skills of humans. Companies think that they can automate their work, but laying off employees will and are creating many other problems because humans have a creative ability and can do many things.

According to a Gartner report, half of the companies that laid off their employees due to AI will likely be rehired by 2027. Now, some reports are coming out that 55 percent of companies are avoiding laying off their employees because artificial intelligence has not completed all the aspects that a human can do.
Large companies that integrated AI into their systems were claiming that they might not need a human workforce anymore, but now they are realizing that despite replacing a human, AI is not able to handle all their tasks. This is proving that while AI can endanger human jobs, it can also create new employment opportunities.
AI-Literate Workers Importance In AI Era
To further improve AI systems in companies, it is also important that the person operating the AI must have excellent knowledge of AI. The better you train the artificial intelligence system, the better results it will provide you. If Ford is recalling its employees, they do not have evidence that AI has completely failed, but rather, they need to train those employees better so that they can do quality work with AI.
